Stephen > The great kiskadees are gregarious birds with plenty of character. When I noticed this one land at a water feature on a broiling hot day at the Weaver Ranch, I took advantage of the opportunity to photograph this charismatic bird. In reviewing my images, I thought this captured the character of the bird well with its head and beak held high. He seemed to be admiring his reflection in the water below. Stephen > These scissor tailed flycatchers just love man made perches, fences, posts or utility lines so I was not surprised to find this flycatcher sitting on this old iron post instead of perching for me on one of the many beautiful flowering weeds or nearby tree branches.
