Stephen > While on one of my birding outings, I noticed somewhere between 50 to 70 cattle egrets in a large pasture where some cattle were grazing.  This is just one of the many I saw that day. Stephen > This cattle egret nest was located near the ground in dense foliage at the UTSW Rookery.  It was extremely sunny at this time of the day and very hot.  The cattle egrets must have been baking in the heat with the feathers.  They were trying to cool off as best they could though.  Dallas, Texas, July 2007.
