Stephen > I have seen this Cooper's Hawk off and on for the past year or so in this same general vicinity. I have seen it swoop down and catch small rodents, attempt to catch squirrels, but today it was just perched relatively in the open. I had to use manual focus to blur some plants in the foreground plus I was using my vehicle as a blind in the middle of the street so I was nervous about any traffic heading my way. Luckily, this is not a busy street. As soon as I tried to get close, it left. Midlothian, Texas, January 2008.
