Stephen > This is my grandfather either at his high school graduation or while he was in his early twenties.
Stephen > This is my great grandfather, Jerome Jay Clifford. He had moved to Mexico to work for the railroads. There he met his wife and raised most of his children. My grandfather was the last of nine children. He was born in 1909 in Piedras Negras. Soon afterwards my great grandfather died of apendicitis in Eagle Pass, Texas. He was originally from Missouri. His parents, John and Margaret were from Ireland.
Stephen > This is my great grandmother, Lila Clifford. She actually brought suit against the Mexican government in the 1920's for back wages owed to her husband who worked for the Mexican railroads even after Mexico nationalized the industry during the Mexican Revolution, 1910-1920. She was born in Pennsylvania and her parents were from England.
